Sync Your Springpad Events with Google Calendar

Posted on 30th March, by katin in Using Springpad. 156 Comments

4/5/11/ UPDATE: You can now send your Events, Alarms and Tasks with due dates to Google Calendar using an iCal feed from Springpad.

Any events that you create in Springpad can be sent to your Google Calendar. So, if you’re using Springpad to organize certain projects, you can send integrate that planning with the rest of your life in Google!

Here’s how to do it:
1. Login to Springpadit.com and click on Settings
2. Click on the Services tab & follow the instructions to authenticate with Google
3. Create an Event in Springpad (Events can be found under the + then Add By Type link, they are different from Tasks and Alarms)
4. Open Google Calendar, refresh your browser & you’ll see a calendar called ‘springpad’. Any Events added or modified in that calendar will automatically sync back to Springpad.

Note: Currently, only Events are synced.

I’m sorry, but I did all this and have given the process plenty of time to synch, but there is Springpad Calendar in Google Calendars. What’s the trick here?

  2. Lk says:

    Hi,

I linked my springpad with gmail in “Setting” – “Account Options” and “Services”. I then added some test events and the first time, an event was added to my calendar. Any subsequent added events only added additional “springpad” calendars to my google calendar but no events appeared. When I deleted to first event on my calendar that did show up, I had to manually delete from Springpad.

This will be a very handy feature once the bugs are worked out. Please post when this is working!

    Hi,

This is a nice feature. Is there any plans for this to be developed to work in reverse, i.e., events created in google calendar will be synced to springpad? Similar question with google contacts, will it ever be possible for google contacts to be synced into springpad in a batch fashion, rather than the possibility of looking up contacts in springpad and adding them individually?

I know this is a somewhat old thread. Thought someone might still be monitoring it. No worries if not.

    Thanks,
    bp

  4. Felipe says:

Another vote for Google Calendar events to sync to Springpad. Similarly it’d be great if I could add an event in Springpad only to see it on a specific calendar in Gcal of my choice (as opposed to a default “Springpad” calendar).

Great app guys… the more I use it, the more I like it!

  5. C says:

It’d be great too if tasks could be synced as events to google calendar, if you wanted to.

  6. Peanut Looey says:

As far as I can figure, this only works with regular Gmail calendars. I cannot get my Google Apps calendar to work. But then that is tied to a regular Gmail account I never use and for which calendar is not configured. Time to integrate my Google accounts in a better fashion, I guess.

  7. bp says:

    Hi Katin,
Thanks for the response. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. When I create an “event” in springpad it syncs as a calendar entry on my google calendar. However, when I create a calendar entry on my google calendar it does not sync as an “event” in springpad. Is it supposed to do that? Do I need to change a setting or something to make that work? Thanks again for your help.

  8. bp says:

So, I wasn’t thinking well. I was adding things to my main profile calendar in gCal rather than the calendar created by springpad. It seems to work fine now. Is there a way to have springpad sync to my main profile calendar? That may be reaching at this point. Thanks again.

  9. djalex says:

I tried this features as well. I followed the steps. It did create a calendar in google called springpad BUT DID NOT add any event. its just a blank calendar….what can be done to fix this?

  10. Alejandro says:

    Hi,

Having trouble with this. I am authenticated and have created an event in SP. I do not see a new calendar in my calendar list. Any hints?

    Alejandro

  11. Gregg says:

For me, this is the ‘killer feature’ over Evernote. The two-way sync is fantastic, and on an Android phone it’s the perfect combination. Ideally, I’d like to sync it to my own calendar, or at least rename the Springpad calendar, but that’s something I can live with.

However, under certain circumstances I get duplicate entries — one a regular calendar entry, and one a Google ‘invite’ entry. I’m not sure what those circumstances are: Creating an event in Springpad, creating an event in Google Calendar, or creating an event in Google calendar on my Android phone. It doesn’t always happen — and I couldn’t even say it happens consistently, since I’m not sure — but it happens enough to be annoying. I can delete the ‘invite’ entry without impacting anything.

    Any ideas?

  12. Dave Yuhas says:

I just tried this for the first time. The event showed up in my Google Calender and NOT in a Springpad calendar. When I open the event the calendar is identified as Springpad.

  13. Keir says:

Two way sync would be awesome! Springpad to GCal works fine for me, but I’d love Springpad to show other GCal calendars too.

  14. Ingrid says:

Where do you create an event in Springpad? *Confused*

  15. David Jones says:

I have synced as instructed and added an event but nothing shows up on google calendar? What do I do? Any setup on google needed?

  16. Steve Burgess says:

Followed instructions, but no “springpad” calendar has ever appeared. Reading the previous posts there seems to be many issues!

    • brittni says:

Hi everyone – if you seem to be having issues syncing with Google Calendar, try going back to settings, then services and unauthorizing Google, and reauthorizing. Wait a little bit of time in between.

If you still are having issues please email me at brittni@springpartners.com and I’ll be happy to help!

  17. jim says:

Would be fantastic if could specify the calendar to sync with instead of creating a “springpad” calendar. Would also be great if could specify a calendar per notebook and/or event. I’ve been using Google Calendar for years, and I have one for my personal items, one shared with colleagues and one private work calendar. The springpad calendar just doesn’t help me here.

  18. Bryan says:

Does there exist the possibility of a YouTube video or similar to show the step-by-step needed to enable this feature? I’ve attempted authorizing/re-authorizing several times and am not seeing the springpad calendar be added to my Google calendar list…

  19. vaha says:

Hi, it works one way – from spring to google. But in reverse it doesn’t.

It generates a new springpad calendar, which if clicked, becomes some sort of an ‘overlay’ to the existing google calendar. That’s fine.

But I want to know how to import the events from my google calender into spring. Also how do I create an event on my android mobile? What about google tasks? Can they be imported?

    Cheers

  20. Jordan says:

Sorry, this simply does not work for me. It would be great if it did, but it doesn’t. No Google Calendar is created, no events are sync’d. Next steps would be two-way sync, and more importantly, task sync.

Another point, it would be good if the sync allowed a user to select a calendar to sync things to. I don’t really need yet another calendar, and would like to sync to the default calendar in the Google account, or to a specific Calendar. It would be best if this we something one could configure on a per notebook basis.

  21. George says:

I had the problem the Google integration failing to create the Springpad calendar. Per one of the recommendations above, I disabled authorization then re-authorized. I waited a minute then the new calendar appeared. I have multiple G-Mail accounts, and the time it worked, I made sure I authenticated to the correct account.

  22. David says:

Hi there, Another one with sync problems. I synced my gmail account and authorized the use of google calendar but no new calendar was added to my google calendar… what should I do?

  23. Matt says:

Same with David, I have authorized my account and refreshed my google account, but the springpad calender does not show up under my addtional calenders.

  24. Dani says:

I love this feature and it works for the most part, but it would be even better if I could create events from my Springpad for Android app…

  25. Matt says:

No new calendar here either. I have tried un-authorizing and re-authorizing, but no new calendar is created and no events sync.

  26. Eoin says:

    Hi,

I’ve synched Springpad events with google calendar.

I created the events with start and end dates. Springpad only picks up the start date. I really like to have the start and end dates. I’m trying to give myself an overview of the timeslots I have allocated to different projects.

A possible “nice-to-have” – automatically prepend the notebook name to the event title. I’m typing this into each event so I can see which events belong to which notebook/project.

  27. Eoin says:

    Update to my previous comment.

If you just select the dates and leave the All Day box ticked then only the start date is synched to google calendar.

I unticked the ‘All Day’ box and set start and end times, in addition to the date. Then the event shows up across multiple days.

  28. Salih says:

Hi, I am in love with this integration… and the Android Linux App. Great work people, its a state of the art !

But I have a little problem.
When I add an “Event” in Springpad, lets say for “2:00 pm”, in Google Calendar it shows the event in “1:00 pm”. When I add something for “4pm” in Google Cal it is shown as “3pm”. Always an hour earlier.
I tried to find an option to specify my Timezone or something similar in Springpad, but I couldn’t..

Am I missing something here ?

  29. Salih says:

Thanks a lot Brittni ! Problem solved with your help !

You should move that option to another separate place because It is an important feature and it is not so user friendly. It’s in a “not so obvious” place ! (why with password change ???)

Keep up the good work !

  30. sebakim says:

    I did 3 things as below;
    1. Login to Springpadit.com and click on Settings
    2. Click on the Services tab & follow the instructions to authenticate Gmail
    3. Create an Event in Springpad

But, I can’t see springpad calendar anywhere in my google calendar.
How and where can I see springpad calendar?
    Please help me….

  31. Mark says:

When I add an event, it automatically defaults to today’s date. How do you change the date?

I successfully authenticated the connection to my Google Calendar. There was no Springpad calendar created. Is there something else I should do?

  32. Gregg says:

Brittni, I’m not sure why you say the sync is one-way. As I noted Dec 1, if you create an event in GCal, it creates an entry in Springpad. (And that includes Android.) However, the problem is that Springpad then apparently sends that even *back* to GCal, resulting in duplicate (and sometimes triplicate) events.

Worse, deleting the duplicate events in GCal is then a bit of russian roulette — delete one and nothing happens; delete the other and it also deletes your Springpad entry!! I hope this gets fixed (or at least acknowledged) soon.

  33. April says:

I finally got this to work yesterday by deauthorizing & then reauthorizing my Google account.
Question…if I delete an Event in Springpad (remove from everywhere), is it supposed to then delete it from my springpad calendar in Google Calendar? Because it is persisting there. :-(

  34. Zap says:

Really? No event creation from mobile apps? (iphone or Android) :(

Such a nice feature sync to Google Calendar, but I can’t believe that limitation. People mainly just use this when they’re sitting at a desktop computer anyway? Eesh. *dumbfounded*

  35. Mark Fishman says:

Should we we expect to see the springpad calendar that is created under the google “My calendar” list of calendars to show up (sync) in the native iPhone calendar application under “Exchange”?

  36. Scott says:

How do you create an Event? Is it the same thing as a task ?

  37. Ken says:

Its not creating a springpadit calender in my gmail account.

  38. Don Kim says:

Took me while to get it to work, but the instructions from this site is not complete. To get this to work, you have to add an event from Springpad, then click “Edit” on the upper left button and set a time for the event. Then go to Google calendar hit refresh and you’ll see the springpad calendar show up. You have to do this for every event you want synched. Don’t know why they don’t mention this!?

    Anyway, work fairly nice.

  39. Josh says:

I have tried unlinking and re linking to google but I am not able to even create an event, only tasks and notes. Help appreciated.

  40. Kent says:

I got this to work. Pretty slick. One question I have:

My new events go to the Springpad calendar. In order to have Google Calendar Sync have these events go into my Outlook calendar, I have to copy the event over to my default Google calendar. Any way around having to perform this additional step?

  41. malcolm says:

I’m delete ‘springpad’ calendar from my gcal, and now i can’t add springpad calendar again :( I desable Auth in setting and enable again – nothing. Please, help :)

  42. Steve Wilkerson says:

Not working for me. Refreshed but no new calendar or event

  43. Julio says:

Thanks Josh (#44). As many others, I had problems with the non-appearing springpad calendar en Gcal. I recommend others to try his solution. In my case, it worked like a charm.

  44. Lu says:

    Hi SPrinPad Crew.

I believe there is only 1 final thing that is needed for SpringPad. And that is a truly integrated Task/Todo LIst linked to a calendar… Similar to what awesome note offers in terms of tasks, and checking them off before they disappear (unless on monthly repeat), and able to see them in calendar view. This would be my dream and final solution for using SpringPad as sole proprietor of my notes.

    Thanks, Great work!

  45. Selene says:

It would be great if it were possible to turn emails into events. I just received an invitation to an event by email, I sent it to my SprinPpad account in order not to forget about it, but now, if I want to make a real event out of it, I have to do it manually. It’s no big deal, but as a journalist, I receive loads of such invitations to events, so if you ever find a way to make that (like for example TripIt, that turns emails into travel timetables), it would just be perfect.

  46. Marco says:

I also did what Josh wrote and it finally worked. Thanks for your help. The only missing piece now is the ability to create an Event on the mobile app. The option is missing under “Add by Type”

  47. carissa says:

NEED TO SEE ENTIRE CALENDAR VIEW PLEASE!! If someone wants to know when I’m free for a meeting in the next 3 weeks, I don’t want to have to scroll through all of my separate events, I want to open a calendar within Springpad that has all of my events for the day/week/month listed…And I want to be able to do this on my mobile phone (droid app)! Please please please! This seems like a no-brainer for an “organizational tool ” like yours, but doesn’t seem to exist so far on springpad (at least nowhere that I can find!)
    Thanks!

  48. Carol says:

I can add events in SpringPad and have it show in Google Calendar, but can not add things to Google Calendar and have them show up in SpringPad. I have made sure that I’m adding in the springpad calendar. Any other options that I may not have toggled correctly?

    • brittni says:

Hi Carol – this is most likely due to the way google handles data, Google does not constantly send and receive information to other apps, so it may take time to make changes through google. They also cache or save a lot of things so changes you make in Springpad may not automatically change in google.

  49. Gerry says:

I just followed the instructions (above) to authenticate GMail & then created an event. The event shows up on SpringPad (even on My Android app), but did not show up on Google Calender – neither did a new calendar (“SpringPad”) (?) Did I miss something?
Also, I could not figure out how to create an event using my Android App…

  50. Khalid says:

I created an event in springpad and authenticated gmail, but now springpad calender was created in google calender am i doing something wrong or am i not looking in the right place on google calender?

  51. sleepbag says:

    Great!

  52. Rene says:

    > brittni says:
    > January 13, 2011 at 2:46 pm
    > Sorry Vaha – the sync is only one way from Springpad to Gcal.

this wouldn’t matter if it would work – but as many other, i tried tens times to create an event (with modifications), edit and schedule after creation, re-connect the springpadit to gmail account etc, but there is still not even one springpadit event in my gcalendar (and Sprinpadit calendar neither).
this would be VERY helpful, no matter its (at the time) designed as a one-way service.

  53. Carissa says:

Google calendar sucks! It doesn’t sync well with Springpad (at least for me). Too many duplicates, not-saved or moved events, etc. Totally not happy with google calendar, and wish that spring pad had its own integrated calendar, COMPLETELY separate from google that was usable on my mobile device as well (and that does NOT require syncing THROUGH google calendar, which a lot of other calendar apps require)….

  54. thischris says:

Please include events option on mobile app!

  55. Andy says:

I use springpad mainly for tasks. Would be nice to see tasks with due dates appear on the springpad calendar.

  56. katin says:

Update: You can now view your Springpad events, alarms and tasks with due dates on Google Calendar using an iCal feed. Read more: http://blog.springpadit.com/2011/04/create-an-rss-or-ical-feed-for-your-springpad-data/

  57. Eric says:

@Eoin (#32) Thanks, man. You just saved me a world of frustration about multi-day events. I run all projects and actions as calendar events (get distracted by little check boxes in addition to shifting time slots), so the multi-day event is a must-have for me to integrate SpringPad into my system.

  58. kitty says:

    Need. Mobile. Events. (Pleeeeeeeese!

  59. Scott says:

Just learning about Springpad and am excited about its possibilities. I have linked my events in Springpad with Google Calendar. However, when items show up in my Google calendar the time is off by 3 hours. I am in the Pacific Time Zone and when I enter an event in Springpad for 6 PM it shows up in Google Calendar at 3 PM. The time zone in Google is set for Pacific. Is there a way to change the time zone in Springpad? It appears to be set for eastern time. Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks for your assistance.
    Scott

  60. Scott says:

Sorry for the previous post regarding time zones…..I figured it out!

    Scott

  61. Brian says:

It would be really nice if Springpad would allow me to select which Google Calendar I want to sync with (rather than requiring me to use a special ‘springpad’ calendar). For example, if I already have a primary calendar that I use in Google Calendar, I’d like to select it for sync and have already-created calendar events sync over to Springpad.

  62. sushiguru says:

Just ran a test on this and have the following observation: sync to GCal works just fine – push to – but if an event is deleted from Springpad it doesn’t delete it from GCal (no pull) so lots of orphaned events left over in GCal. Not ideal.

I echo the above comment about integrating Tasks – sharing of these would make this a killer app – ie I want to create a task and have it shared to my wife’s task list and vice versa; for now, I’ll watch from the sidelines.

    sg.

  63. Me says:

Please add EVENT to mobile!!!!! PLEASE

  64. Russell Dickenson says:

I have successfully created an event and it was successfully sync-ed with my Google Calendar, in a calendar named “springpad”. So far so good *but* the event spans several days and despite entering the correct dates when I created the event in Springpad, the event appears in my Google Calendar as a 1-day event. :(

  65. thischris says:

OK. The only thing that syncs are Events created on the SPringpad web app. Tasks will appear on my iCal on my Macbook but do not appear in GOogle calendar or on my iPhone iCal.

  66. Julia says:

Really need to be able to integrate with iCal for calendar events! I hate the calendar that comes on the iPad, no drag and drop, no integration with to dos. I love having my to dos with springpad, but ilike to cross ref some of them with calendars. Plus many of my projects (notebooks) have their own calendar in iCal.

Please please integrate more with iOS. Also down the road, integration with mac mail for iPad, Mac and iPhone would be awesome. Love your product, and with those features would be willing to pay up to 10 for the app.

  67. Chris d. says:

Here’s what I keep coming up against: is anything created on the iPhone springpad app able to sync with Google Calendar?

  68. Marcos D. says:

Why do I have duplicated events in Google Calendar, for a single event created in Springpad ? Thanks.

  69. Petyas says:

Why Todos and Tasks are not also sync with Google Calendar. And why is Event on Android missing? Do you plan to add into?

  70. Claas says:

I am not sure where the problem is but the sync between GCal and Springpad is more than rocky.

Sometimes the sync is fine and instant but then when I delete an event in Springpad it does not get changed in GCal or if I delete, move it in GCal Springpad will not get updated.

This is not the iCal feed you cannot change in GCal – I am talking about the calendar you can 2 way sync.

This problem renders Springpad not reliable to use as a project and task management system.
Any input or feedback about what could cause this?

I noticed the same issue also with Google Reader not updating the changes inside my Springpad.

  71. Lawrie says:

I’ve been playing around with Springpad in general and love it. Now, I’m able to set up the RSS feeds in Google Calendar. The “All My Stuff” feed did not work for me but the Events and Tasks did. After the setup, all of this month’s events and tasks showed up in GCal without a problem. However, future events and tasks are not displayed.

  72. Claas says:

I am not sure where the problem really is because I also have two commercial products which use Google Desktop and RSS feeds and they all sync fast and complete.

  73. Robin says:

My Services page is empty. How do I use it to set up a Google calendar please?

  74. Bob M. says:

Hmm, just about everything is syncing both ways except notes/description. The internal Note field data in SpringPad Tasks does not transfer to the Google Calendar Event Description field and neither does data entered into Google’s Event Description field make it to SpringPad’s Note field in Tasks. Boy, how I wish this worked!

The Task/Event Title field, re-occurring Tasks/Events and Alerts/Reminders all appear to sync in both directions. Good work there folks. Now just get Note/Description working and I’ll be in Heaven.

    Bob M.

  75. Claas says:

    Mh

maybe this can be an issue with google apps accounts which I am using.
The sync is very incomplete and half working.

  76. Chris D says:

Has anybody found a way to make the Sprinpad iPhone app sync with gcal or google cal?

  77. vojcas says:

Looks like it is not working for iPhone app

  78. Amy says:

Its not working for me either. it just doesn’t appear on gcal.

  79. Renee says:

Hi, a few days ago SP started sending each event to my google calendar in duplicate. I deleted and re-linked my SP to Google account; now only new events will sync and still in duplicate. Suggestions, on how to get all my events to sync and sync one copy of the entry?

    Thanks

  80. beatrice says:

I have to agree with Carissa’s comment. PLEASE CREATE A CALENDAR VIEW IN SPRINGPAD! I realize that I can see a calendar view on Google Calendar, but I don’t want to have to leave Springpad and go to Google Calendar to see it. I use Springpad for everything, and I wish I could just see the entire month of events while using Springpad. Like Carissa said, it’s really difficult to look at a list of upcoming events and plan things. I want to see it laid out daily, weekly, or monthly. A calendar view would make Springpad perfect in my book!

  81. joerg says:

I’m also getting duplicate events from Springpad in Google Calendar. It’s really a bit of a dealbreaker for me, as without reliable calendar sync the whole events related functionality of springpad is of no use to me. Fixing this should be really high priority as I’m sure many people need to consolidate events from several sources into one calendar (and Google Calendar works well for that, especially of you are on an Android device).

  82. MarcoAix says:

    @Chris D

It might be a bit late but, to sync mail and/or calendars and/or contacts from Google right to your iPhone (without the need for iCal) you may want to have a look at this :

  83. Alvin says:

    How about sync’ing with iCal?

  84. Alvin says:

    @brittni -Thanks. That works great!

  85. Renee says:

It is a sad day for me. I bought a paper calendar. My attempts to go paperless have not gone well. I will continue to use Springpad and eagerly await a fix to the Google Calendar duplicate syncing or a Springpad calendar view.

  86. Tom2652 says:

I authorized the service integration with Google the other day. Your authorization screen for the Google integration says, and I quote, “creates a new calendar called ‘springpad’”

Sounded really cool, but it never happened?

Is there some secondary step I need to perform to get the “Springpad” calendar to appear in my Google calendar?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  87. Tom2652 says:

I did, and it turns-out, it did eventually appear in Google Calendar (took about an hour, which is why I first posted, thinking it didn’t work).

However (this is the weird part), every time I create another event in Springpad, it creates another “Springpad” calendar in Google Calendar… In other words, If I create eight events, I get eight Springpad calendars?

Surely, this isn’t the intended behavior, is it?

  88. Marco Aramburo says:

I made the integration with google and works fine, but i need this events insert directly in my main calendar, at this moment this events are in the calendar “springpad”, how can i do that?

  89. Jason says:

Problems getting events to sync reliably to Google Calendar. I’ve had duplications turning up in Google on the same day, and my most recent entry in Springpad hasn’t turned up yet at all (it’s been a day). I love you guys but this platform isn’t always 100% reliable and I wish it were.

  90. Stefanie Shaver says:

Hi, does “add by type” not include “event” as a choice using springpad android platform? I don’t see it. Thanks

  91. V1ct0r says:

I found a way around to adding events on Android platform – create events from the “springpad” calendar in Google Calendar within the phone, that will create Events on both Springpad and Google Calendar. Unfortunately they can’t be edited in Springpad mobile since technically they are not supported.

Brittni do you have an ETA on when it will be supported, also please provide input on Contact type.

I really wish the mobile version could hyperlink emails / maps / telephone numbers / websites. Another missing feature which I am sure is being asked a lot is type switching and merging of notes and the possibility of creating/merging any note type as an attachment to an existing note.

I apologies if this has already been requested but yeah, please do consider these features

    • katin says:

      Hey V1ct0r -

We don’t have an eta on allowing you to add/edit contacts, events & alarm on the Android app – sorry about that.

Thanks for the other feature requests, too. You might want to check out the recent conversations in the user forum at http://getsatisfaction.com/springpartners to see the most popular requests from other users & chime in…

  92. Mario says:

Hi, I love springpad, it’s awesome! However, I’ve encountered a glitch. When making events I want them to sync to my Google calendar, and I have it all set up and everything and normally it work fine. Unless I make the event from the iPhone app. Then it does not add the event to my Google calendar. I even went to the springpad chrome app (which is where I normally make the events and they sync properly) and opened up the event to see if I view it on the computer if it will sync, but it doesn’t. 94. John says:

    Hello,
I just authorized my springpad account with google calendar. But I can’t find my springpad calendar created in google calendar on my iPad. I did create some events, but nothing shows up on my iPad. please help!

    thanks

  95. Aleks says:

Everything works fine, but there is a problem (glitch), the mobile version (Android) in the “Add By Type” no “Event”! Yesterday to update the application, but still no “Event”!
    Prompt me when available?

  96. Apple says:

Hi, I followed the instructions but no calendar was created on google-calendar. I am very sure I added by “event.” Help!

    thanks

Any plans to work on a google calendar TASK sync??

  98. Ben says:

    Hi Katin:
Just thought I would justto see if there has been any solution in regards to syncing springpad events to google calendar using ipad app? I know it was mentioned before but I just wanted to feel things out.

Thanks for everything and happy 11-11-11!

  99. Tony Silveira says:

Wow this was hard to understand…since the Event button is hiding under the “Add by type” It’s finally working but it creates a double entry on my Google Apps calendar. The Event is there but instead of one I have a duplicate. Also when I delete the event on Springpad it remains on the Calendar (one way sync only, I guess). I would love to have Tasks synchronizing as Events instead.

  100. Yael says:

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to sync google calendar without synchronizing google contacts as well (something I really don’t want to do…)
    Thanks

    • brittni says:

Hi Yael – if you authorize with Google it will sync a google calendar (only if you have an Event created). Syncing contacts is not something you have to do, but it just makes the option available if you choose + > Add by type > contacts.

  101. MartinR says:

Having great fun with this. I wondered if “location” in Springpad event was meant to be passed to “Where” in Google calendar. That would be cool if it did

  102. Ralph Thomas says:

I am having trouble activating calendars.
I do not see any place that says to “authenticate GMail”.
Can you be more specific. The instructions do not seem to follow what I see on the screen. Thanks

  103. Doug says:

I love the idea! However, I’ve got the same problem as Steve in comment 29. Every event I create in Springpad has either doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled. I can delete the extras from the google calendar, & that seems to be okay. But that’s a redundant process. Also, if I change or delete the event from Springpad, it is unaffected on google calendar & vice versa for changing or deleting from google calendar. I have to manually change or delete items from both ends. Again, a redundant process.

I love what Spring pad allows me to do!! Am I simply managing the events the wrong way? Please tell me what I need to do. Thanks a ton!

I was able to activate Springpad calendar, set up event and it sync’ed with Google Calendar, but it’s two hours behind. How do you update the timezone?

I’m in MST, I went to “Settings, Account Details, Zip Code”, but that didn’t seem to help. Set an event for 7pm and showed up as 5pm on Google Calendar.

    • Devin says:

Hi Bryan – If you go to Settings, there is a link that reads “Click here to change your password & timezone.” There you can change your timezone :)

How is possible to login without gmail?

  106. james says:

I love SpringPad its absolutely awesome. I am having trouble with springpad calendar events. I’ve gone into google and changed the default settings to automatically create a reminder for event. When I go to google and create an event in the springpad calendar it does by default create a reminder, however when I create an event in springpad and then check it on the google springpad calendar the event is there but no reminder. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

  107. james says:

    Hi Devin
I understand that only events are synced but what I’m saying is that for any google calendar in the notifications section you can set the default for any event created to also have a reminder. When I create an event in the calendar the reminder is also created, however if I use springpad to create an event, I do indeed see the event but for some reason the default reminder is not created. Does that make sense?

  108. Carolyn says:

No matter how many times I try to do this, I cannot get events to automatically sync from my Google calendar. When I generate an event manually, the time automatically says 10:00 am, regardless of the time I actually enter.

  109. Rich says:

I have followed instructions and “authorized” Google but cannot find the “Event” option nor can I see a Springpad calendar in Google. Please advise if I am missing something. Thanhs.

    • Devin says:

Hi Rich – In Springpad, click the “+” button from My Stuff then Add By Type and select Event. Once you add an event, the calendar will show up in your Google calendar.

  110. ApkApostle says:

I have added an event from my mobile (Droid). Unfortunately, you need 1 more app. Fortunately, it is only 684k of memory. Business Calendar. I got the free version. It is like a Master Calendar. I selected ‘add event’, then selected ‘Springpad Calendar’ (from the list of all my calendars), added the event! I DID THIS FROM THE WIDGET!! A minute later, I went to my desktop, pulled up Springpad, and there was my event – in ‘My Stuff’! – fully edit-able!!

  111. Rich says:

ApkApostle–How did you get a Springpad calendar to add to your Droid?

  112. Laurent says:

    Bonjour ,
    Springpad’s awesome ! But i’ve a little problem :) When i create an event… the first time it works… If i want to create a second event = doesn’t work…

    Thanks a lot !!!

  113. Jonh says:

Hey, I also use Business Calendar (springpad calendar in google calendar), so I receive in Springpad, it is pretty cool feature.

  114. Bruno says:

“4. Open Google Calendar, refresh your browser & you’ll see a calendar called ‘springpad’. Any Events added or modified in that calendar will automatically sync back to Springpad.”

Where exactly will the Events added on Google show on Springpad?
I’ve managed to do the reverse thing perfectly (adding and editing events on springpad and seeing them on google). Also I if move an existing event on google it will update accordingly on springpad.

Just that previous bit missing for me. Help will be appreciated :)
