We’re super excited to announce today’s launch of the Springpad Android App.

The Android app makes it easy for you to save the ideas, places and things you encounter while on-the-go. The app syncs with Springpadit.com, so you can access your data from any computer. Through semantic detection, Springpad automatically organizes the information for easy retrieval and enhances it with useful links and offers to save time and money.

  1. Ivan says:

    Two problems that saw instantly.

Notes font size is too small. PLease add an option to change font size.

Images/Pictures cannot be zoomed in. Photos I take with nexus one are too small.

  2. Patrick EMIN says:

Cannot find the Android app on Android market…

  3. Xian says:

Hey, can’t find the Android app either. Using Hero with Android 1.5

  4. John says:

I’m sorry, guys – but I signed up for your neat app today, but I am running Android 1.5 on my trusty G1, and if I can’t use it on my phone, I’ll likely not return to your site…

  5. Dale Clarke says:

It is a great app except that using the Shopping list, after selecting the to do checkbox and the phone turns to wide view, you lose all selections and have to reselect the checkboxes all over again.

So in short does not remember selections when phone changes view.

  6. apunktl says:

    nice app!

one question though: is there by chance a possibility to mark/copy text in a note/task/etc to the phones clipboard?

it’s hard to call a number, that is saved in a note!

  7. Johan says:

Great app! BUT, I guess that unicode is needed since Swedish characters look strange (they get replaced with straange characters), and unfortunately makes notes and other text unreadable and the app gets hard to use.

Will there be a fix sson?

  8. katin says:

    Hey guys!

Thanks so much all of the feedback. As Lauren responded above, Springpad currently supports Android phones running Android OS 2.0 and above only. Sorry to make you wait!

Ivan – we’ll see what we can do about both of these requests.

Dale – We’re working on this bug now!

apunktl – We hope to allow for hyperlinks to addresses, phone numbers, emails, and URLs that are in notes. Would this help?

Johan – We’ll see what we can do about supporting unicode soon.

  9. apunktl says:

would help – would be perfect!

  10. matt buzz says:

    Lauren,

Maybe i’m missing something but I’m not able to search notes/content from my android phone. “Add Stuff” has “Search/Create” but only has “create” options… When you get several hundred notes accrued filtering by name or date created is not enough to narrow down and find things.

Also, is there a way to put PDF’s in notes or notebooks other than linking to a http:// ? I have a bunch of great PDF content that I want to manage but don’t see a good way to organize it.

If I’m missing something please let me know. I’m giving SpringPad an honest trial.

    Thanks Matt

  11. katin says:

    Hey Matt -

We do not yet have a search feature on the Android app – it’s coming. The Search/Create refers to your ability to create via searching other services (like Amazon, Yelp, Wine.com, etc.)

There’s no easy way to manage files on the Android… yet. We hope to enable files as attachments soon, just as it works on the web.

    Hope this helps!

  12. Kathy says:

    Oh hey guys,
I’m so hooked! Can’t stand paper anymore. Can you please please make and ipad app???

    • lsleeper says:

Hi Kathy. We’re happy to hear that! We’re actually working on an iPad app now. We’ll be sure to post any updates.

  13. dep says:

Great app! Keep up the good work.

  14. javier perez says:

I’ve just registered in Springpad using my Google account. Now I’ve tried to login from my Android mobile, but I’m not able to do it. It’s possible to do it? If so, how?

  15. katin says:

    Hey Javier -

If you create an account on Springpadit.com using another service (GMail, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter), here’s how to login on you Android device:
Login at http://Springpadit.com, then click on Settings to find your username and password. The use that username/password to login on your phone.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused!

  16. Dmitri says:

Hey! The last varsion (1.0.8) of your app is awesome! Thank you for Unicode support. :)

Now I can move all my stuff from Upvise, Evernote etc to Springpad. Great!

  17. sophia says:

Plz plz plz build in ability to reorder lists.

  18. Paul says:

    Support,
given that the last comment regarding >2.0 device support was May 24th, I am curious why this app is available (now going on almost three months since last mention). I can honestly say that if this is going to be a competitor for Evernote, you might start by getting support 1.5 & 1.6 devices, now.

-Current 1.6 user (pending update from carrier to 2.XX) and loving that Evernote supports 1.6.

    Cheers

  19. brian says:

Wondering why when i try to attach or add notes to a list. I keel getting the message that says. You currently do not have any lists. Yet i do have lists? Driod x.

    • katin says:

Brian – You probably have checklists. But, we have another type of List that can include many types of things (books, tasks, notes, etc.) For now, you need to login to Springpadit.com to create a List.

  20. brian says:

I see. Ok. Will we be able to add lists in future from mobile? Thank you.

  21. brian says:

Hi. Is there any way to sort tasks in all my stuff by due date? Thanks!

  22. Carles says:

Very nice app. I see one problem, though. In my android, when I create a restaurant, I can modify the Title, Notes & media and Quicklinks, but I cannot add information of the address, I can only add this information on the web. Will it be possible to add this information directly from android?? Thanks!!

  23. brian says:

Hi wondering why you can not add an event from the mobile. Driod x! Thanks

  24. Eric says:

Still impossible to zoom in on an image? I want to use this to replace all those random bits of paper but without the ability to look at my images in detail it’s useless for this purpose. So much potential wasted without this must-have feature!

  25. Keith Aitken says:

I can’t find Springpad on the Android Market… a search brings up nothing, and the QR code links says “Resource not found” when you try to pull it up in a browser. Has it been taken down for some reason? I’m on an HTC Wildfire, if there’s any significance in that.

  26. Fritz says:

    Hi there.
Love springpad. But why can I not add contacts, events, and so on
    a) using my android phone
    b) directly using the green ‘+’ under my stuff, but only either in a separate notebook under ‘Apps’ or after I clicked an existing contact.

Especially I would need to add contacts using the android phone (and preferably also sync them with google contacts).
    Any explanations/hints?

    Thanks,
    Fritz

  27. Mermaid says:

Hi! I’m starting to like your app! The more I use it the more I like it. I installed from the market & it was ok. Not until I logged on from a pc did I realize how much it could & how cool it is! Thank you and keep improving.

  28. Michael Juesgen says:

I’m using a Samsung I5503 with Android 2.1 but Springpad doesn’t appear and while trying to download via barcode the item can’t be found either.

  29. Donal Leader says:

I have a problem with the Springpad app running on 2.1 on the HTC Legend. It was performing flawlessly until I decided to install an update about two weeks. Now the the new version of the app is caught in some kind of installing loop. I can’t remove the app so I can download it again. Any suggestions. I want to get back to my stuff.

  30. Boris says:

    Hi Springpad Team,

first of all, thanks for this awesome service and the equally awesome android app. I’m glad I switched from Evernote to Springpad, the offline feature coupled with the syncing is great. The interface is slick and responsive, … — love it!

I have discovered a bug though; whenever I open a note in Springpad for Android, the note-box on the screen keeps growing… and growing… and growing, I’d say by about 3 text lines in height with each pop. A bit annoying. Running Springpad on a Motorola Droid (Milestone), with Android 2.1-1 unrooted.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

    Boris

P.S. @some of the other posters… jeez, do you actually read what you are writing? This app is free, the service is free, and yet you come here, stomp your foot and expect the team to jump. Blimey, it sounds as if you are entitled to features. =/

  31. Question: for the life of me I cant find it in the droid app, or the ipad app for that matter. is there a way – other than on the website – to add a recipe to a shopping list? i can find it on the site just fine, but NOT in either application. help? i find all my recipes on the mobile app and if i can just add them to a shopping list on the droid or ipad then i’m golden. if i have to do that thru the site, then this isn’t much help to me. thanks!!!

    • brittni says:

Hi Daniel – this feature is not available on the mobile apps just yet. It is a great feature that can hopefully be incorporated to mobile in the feature.

  32. ap says:

When I do a sync, I can see my notebook names on the Android. However, the information inside each of the notebooks is gone on the droid. How can this be fixed?

  33. Ivan says:

I have an xperia mini pro / android 2.1. It is not possible to find the app in the market.
    I’m really sad :(

  34. [...] obvious choice, in my opinion, as it enjoyed quite a bit of publicity when the Android app launched back in May. However, this Web-synced note-taking app still appears to be playing second fiddle to Evernote, so [...]

  35. Manir says:

    GREAT APP.

I’m using Springpad as a Chrome App in windows as well as android app in DROIDX. I noticed notebook created in Chrome did not sync with DROIDX, although I’m using gmail account for login on both cases.

Wishlist for options –> Please add highlighting and coloring of text in notebook as well as strikethrough font style/effect

    Thanks.

  36. John says:

Why can’t I add an “event” from Android phone?

    • brittni says:

John – sorry that feature is not yet available for Android.

Manir – Can you try syncing your android app under the settings menu, also try logging out and back in if that doesn’t work.

  37. maria says:

first of all springpad is fantastic!!! but i would like to make some comments or suggestions if you like.
i would like to be able to create events and contacts on the android app, and how about an extension to the dolphin browser so we can save-edit-tag on seperate notebooks? i hope you’ll try !!!
    keep up the good work.

  38. Shreekar Shetty says:

Do you guys support QR codes in the Android App. If not it would be a really great addition.

  39. jsalvatier says:

When I create a note offline (I don’t always have cell service) it never syncs up with my account. Even if I modify the note when I do have cell service. This is quite annoying.

  40. jsalvatier says:

I am afraid that if I log out and log back in on my android it will erase the notes I created while offline.

    • brittni says:

Jsalvatier – You have to be in service, or using wifi for your notes to sync to our server. You can check if they have synced by looking at your account on springpadit.com

  41. jsalvatier says:

Obviously you have to have internet to sync between the server and my phone. My complaint was that I can create a note while offline, and then it won’t sync with the server *even when I come back into service and press the sync button*. My online account will never pick up those notes that were created on my phone while I was offline, even after I come back online. This is clearly a bug, otherwise it would just tell me “you can’t make a new note while offline” (a needless constraint, but conceivable).

  42. Martin says:

Can’t find app on market… (HTC wilfire Android 2.2.1)

  43. Vickey says:

I’ve got the App and am loving it, but I just can’t seem to figure out how to search my stuff with the app. I figure it is easy because Springpad is so simple, but I just can’t figure it out.

  44. Heather says:

I’ve had the app for quite a while and love it. I especially love the widget!

  45. ananta says:

I have installed this cool application on my netbook. Now, I want to install it on my android phone, but it could not. My phone is Huawei Ideos C 8150, which run android froyo. Please enable this app to be install to my phone.
    Thx.

    • brittni says:

Ananta – try getting the app from getjar.com (we don’t officially support small screen phones which is why you’re not finding it in the market)

  46. ananta says:

    Dear Brittni,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I have installed this cool app on my phone.

  47. Bob says:

Nice concept of a note taking app still bugs. Good reviews but a real pain to find download. Not searchable on android market, not searchable on getjar, not downloadable on main springpad homepage, umcertain of dl version not stated anywhere, says not available for your device gt i5500l samsung. Still searchable on google though direct link to getjar. App still works despite saying not compat with my phone initially

  48. Diane says:

I started using Springpad on my pc and love it. Last week installed the app on my android phone. At first all the info appeared in the app on my phone. But overnight everything I had entered in Springpad disappeared. It’s all there when I log in to springpad on my pc, but nothing when I go to the app on my phone. Is there a way to sync the app to my phone?

  49. sue says:

When I open springpad on my Androiod tablet the stuff is there, but I can’t scroll any suggestions
