Use Springpad for Back to School Planning
When you’re organizing back to school tasks, shopping lists and to-dos, Springpad can help keep you on track.

Create a Shopping List and Access it on Your Phone
Shopping lists are super easy to create in Springpad. Add all of the things you need to buy to one list, or separate the items out by store if you need to. Check items off as you shop with one of our mobile apps. If you’re shopping for multiple kids, simply create multiple lists and title them with the child’s name.
Pro Tip: To delete an item off of a shopping list on the mobile apps, either tap and hold on the Android, or swipe to delete on the iPhone.
Save Important Contact Information
Each new school year means new teachers and professors, school nurses, offices, and addresses. Keep track of all of the names, phone numbers, and email addresses in Springpad.
Pro Tip: If you have multiple children, tag each teacher with your child’s name to easily find them later. If they are your own professors, tag their contact information with the name of the class you’re taking.
Email Notes into Springpad
Teachers and professors send lots of important information at the start of the school year. Email those messages into Springpad by emailing them to springit@springpadit.com so you can easily find them later. The entire email will be saved as a note in your account.
Pro Tip: Use the same system as your contacts for easy retrieval. Also, try changing the subject of the email to something you can quickly search for later, so instead of “Welcome to English 101″ it could be “Syllabus for English Class, Fall 2010.”
Save Important Dates as Events
When you get your syllabus, save exam dates and assignment due dates into Springpad as events. You can then set reminders to be sent to you via text message or email a few days (or weeks!) before, so you don’t forget about them.
Pro Tip: You can also sync your Google Calendar with Springpad, so the events you add in Springpad will automatically be sent to your calendar.
Save Products with the Springpad Clipper
For some of your larger school-related purchases, you are probably going to do some research. When you are shopping for a new laptop for example, use the clipper to comparison shop and save all of your possibilities to decide upon later. If you want to involve your children in their school shopping, save a few options for new backpacks or school shoes, and let them choose which one(s) they want.
Pro Tip: With Springpad Alerts, many of the items you save will give you alerts when there are price drops or special deals!
Organize with Lists
Make a list of all the above items for each child or course you are taking. Put shopping lists, products you’re considering, contacts and more in a list to keep yourself organized. Also, add the books you need to buy for all of your classes to Springpad then put them into a “Books To Buy” list to stay organized.
Pro Tip: If you are using the clipper to save things from the web, you can add that item to a list right from the clipper window.

I don’t see the option to add a shopping list. I have two from before but now I can’t create a new one. Shopping List is not in the dropdown.
Thanks,
Michael
Can you share the Shopping list with others or can other people you let have access update the list with items or cross an item off?
This would be a great feature if not.
Thanks,
Tim
you tell us what you can do, but not how to do it!!!
Great for people who know how to do it, but then this makes the page redundant as i would already know i can.
How do you start a list?
How can I save copies of the papers with school info that come home with my kids. Was hoping I could scan or take a photo of them and put them in a notebook. Is this possible and how do you do it?
Thanks!

Hi Michael -
Can you tell me what device you are using the Springpad App on? Have you been able to add a Shopping list directly on your device in the past?
Thanks,
Brittni
PS. You can respond to me at brittni@springpartners.com if you’d like!

Hey Tim – on your shopping list you can share a private link to it to someone but anything they do to the list won’t reflect in your original list, sorry. You can find the private URL when you click the share button at the top when viewing the list on the web app.

Cary – Here are instructions for creating a Shopping List: http://blog.springpadit.com/2011/06/create-shopping-lists-in-springpad-then-access-them-from-anywhere/ You can follow the sam steps to create a checklist or packing list, too!

Hi Melanie – Yup, you can either scan the papers and attach them to notes or take photos from your phone and add them to Springpad that way. Or you can take photos from your camera, and add them as attachments to notes. We don’t have a way to directly scan them into Springpad (which would be cool!), so the easiest way would be to use your phone and add them to the app that way.
