Nice. But still useless for those who speak other languages than English – it can’t find anything in Russian, for instance.
No lists, no tags…
Just funny interface – nothing else.
Ok, I have no doubt you’ll fix and improve it. Just need to wait a bit. ![]()
At least it works well in android app – it is more important for me.
Thanks for your work and the great apps you provide.
Why does everything I clip has to be a bookmark? I want some things to be notes!
I want to be able for extension to pickup proper media from the site and I want it to allow me to edit and add media before I spring something.
I want to choose what I can add – bookmark, note, task, etc… Why can’t I choose?
SpringChrome extension has many more features and usability. Why would springpad make this new extension without looking how other extension works first?
Nice extension, enjoy seeing the new features coming from SpringPad.
Couple of points for feedback:
-When viewing tasks how about adding the option to sort by due date? That is both available in web app and Android app, big missing feature in Chrome Extension
-Have the option to view either a specific list or a saved search would be great.
Looking forward to more new things!
I don’t see the “send to phone” option. It only shows me “view and edit in Springpad”.
Saw a common problem as posted on the Google Chrome extension page that when the user tried to move extension icons around, it crashed the browser. FYI. Other than that, it works great!
Yep, certainly does crash the Chrome browser if I move your icon around. Others are fine.
And thought I’d still see that option since it’s a PC thing, but just wouldn’t work. I’ll have to switch back to my other devices and test that it shows up later (too many phones to keep track of).
What, no Firefox extensions?
Would be much more useful if it more closely approximated a boiled-down version of the actual Springpad interface. Would love to be able to edit/manage notes with this, for example. Right now, it doesn’t do much.
Also, visually, I think the Springpad website’s “main pane” interface is nicer than this iPhone-looking one. Would be nice to have the option to use the same “list view” as the main Springpad UI.
Would love to see a Firefox extension. I’d like to have a “Cloud” bookmark feature so I can access them from my browser instead of having to visit the springpad site and always have that open in a tab.
Same deal as Jenny w/ Chrome — moving extension icons around crashes browser. Disabled all others and Spring is the offender.
Love and use this app every day!

In addition to the 1st comment.
Translation of the interface – is a minor problem. Much more important is the bug with codepages: trying to clip the bookmark using Chrome extension I’ve seen unreadable text in saved bookmark (see screenshot – http://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/5701/alexivanovru.b/0_4bf64_d4c8adc5_orig)
This problem is actual only for Chrome extension, there’s no such effect when using standart web clipper.
Very nice extension! Would have like if Springpad could tell me if the website I’m on is already bookmarked or not because I sometimes bookmark the same website more than once! As it is now, it’s not very usable as a bookmarking tool because of that.

I agree with others in that an add clip/task/note option from the Chrome client would make this a much more usable product. Without these additions I fear I’ll stick w/Evernote

I can see this being useful for a family calendar since I need to access it from multiple places…. but I don’t see a calendar feature. Is that coming?
Hi,
The ONLY thing lacking in this otherwise perfect add on – is the fact that when I clip the page – it doesnt clip the WHOLE page – only the visible portion. So i dont understand how people are able to use that feature very effectively. Im not looking to save a link to a page, im looking to save ALL of the info on the page so i can find it even if in the future the web link dies and / or changes.
That one little feature would make this oh so perfect. Just discovered springpad and so far I am loving it! Cheers!

If you could have the functionality of “jing” this would be incredible…
This is not very useful as I want to be able to add by Type – using the extension only lets me add a Note or Clip the page – not add a recipe/product etc. Feels like Springpad has lost a lot of usability since I first started using it.
I am new to springpad but it appears when I do a websearch wiith chrome extension; there is only a small number of hits returned. I end up using my firefox to find the site I want to list on springpad then I have to return to chrome in order to paste the address on the SP application.
I really like springpad but it seems to require to many steps to load tasks, notes, weblinks, etc.
I was wondering if I am using the applocation incorrectly or chrome just severly limits the returned hits. The app seems difficult to use.
Two questions:
(1) Is it possible to save PDF’s to Springpad?
(2) I have been trying to use the Chrome extension but it tells me I am not logged in. I have a Springpad account. How do I login from the extension?
Hi Katin, I would like know how edit a note from chrome extension. I am building a list of places in one note only and this list must be update regularly. Please let me know. thanks
I can’t move the extension icon in Firefox 6.0.2! Running under Linux.
Very frustrating.
Hi Springpad,
Please add the tag auto-complete function. This is one feature that i miss when using the extension. Thank you.
Chrome Web Store lists two Springpad extensions. Which one do I need?
Why does the springpad extension track everything I do? Every site? Every tab? Why do you need that info? Seems like overkill.
I’m very new to springpad. I am very concerned about the safety of my information via the net and also springpad. AND, it appears that the new google “privacy rules” are anything BUT private. I recently loaded firefox as a browser for my pc, and I’m wondering if you can tell me if loading firefox / chrome on my phone will make my Springpad & web surfing safer? HELP

Hey dmych –
Sorry about this! We know we’ve got some improving to do when it comes to international support
Making search work for unicode in both the web app & the extension is definitely on the list!

Hi me –
The “send to phone” option is currently only for Android 2.2 users. Once you log in with your phone you should see the feature. If you are a 2.2 users and don’t see “send to phone” please send me your username so I can check out what’s wrong.

Hi everyone,
That chrome extension crash issue is a tricky one! We’re working on fixing this, you can track the status of it at our user forum: http://getsatisfaction.com/springpartners/topics/chrome_extension_causes_browser_crash_when_moved
Sorry for the trouble!

Georgia – We plan to add that functionality to the extension over time. It is still present in the browsers clipper: http://blog.springpadit.com/2010/02/springpad-clipper/

Brian – You can save a file to Springpad via email (send an email to springit@springpadit.com) or attach a file to any item in the web app – just open the note & attach it under Notes & News.
As for logging into the Chrome extension, be sure you are using your Springpad username/password (set it up under Settings), not your gmail username & password. If you are still having trouble, send us a note at feedback@springpartners.com

José – We’ll consider adding tag auto-complete to the extension in a future update. Thanks for the input!
Chrome Web Store lists two Springpad extensions. Which one do I need?
The first on the list is for the Chrome app (which allows you to use Springpad while offline). The second on the list is the extension.
Why does the springpad extension track everything I do? Every site? Every tab? Why do you need that info? Seems like overkill.
Kafkaj –
We don’t actually keep track of where you go on the web. Rather, we are looking at your current page so we can be ready to interpret what it is in the base that you try to clip it. If you are worried abut security with our extension (or any other), you should consider using an Incognito Window when access banking sites, etc.

Hi Suzee – If you’d like more information about the privacy of your stuff, see our privacy policy: http://springpadit.com/privacy. In terms of safety, we have implemented encryption for login on the web and on the iOS app, the Android app, and the browser extensions. I hope that helps!
