Re-Order Your Notebooks and Add Audio Files to the Board!
We’re excited to add couple of new fun & useful features to the Springpad web app today!
Re-Order Your Notebooks
You asked for it! Now you can re-order your notebooks with a simple drag and drop. This new feature is only available on the web app, but will soon be added to the mobile apps, too. Only available on HTML5-enabled browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox 3.6+

If you re-order your notebooks on the web app, the order will sync to the Android app. Notebook order syncing is not yet available for the iOS apps, but will be coming in a future release.
Add Audio Files to the Board
Now you can add audio files (.mp3 or .wav) to the Board and play them right there! And if you’re using Chrome, you can drag audio files onto the Board directly from your desktop.

The Board is only available on HTML5-enabled browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox 3.6+

Silly question maybe, but I’m new to Springpad.
Updating the Chrome webapp (since it was “installed”) is as easy as reloading the page, right? Nothing else to do?
cool, Thanks!
Springpad just keeps getting better and better!
This ROCKS!! Always improving! Awesome!!!
Not having any luck with it. I’ve tried refreshing and reinstalling it from Chrome web apps, but I can’t rearrange the notebooks. What am I doing wrong?
Ooops….I take that back, I got it working now, It would be nice if you could move ‘Friends Stuff’ also.
I do like what I am seeing. The more I experiment with it, the more uses I find.
Thanks much! You’re sure making yourself indispensable at this rate!
I would like once Russian interface : ))
I’m using Chrome 8 but I don’t see no Board.
Is it active only in some areas or only for some users now?
Thanks!
Hmmm. Drag and drop of folders doesn’t seem to work. I’m using Chrome 8.0.552.215 on a ubuntu linux box. The board works great – so I think I have full html5 functionality. But D&D folders doesn’t.
OK – it works in Firefox 3.6, just not chrome 8.0.552. Most puzzling.
OK – now its good. I had to restart chrome and it works now.
Thank you so much! This feature was on top of my features wishlist.
4 days back, I mentioned on “Get Satisfaction”, that this feature should be a part of such a superb web-app like SpringPad and today its already live. Great job guys.
BTW, it works like a charm and now I can arrange notebooks the way I need them. Thanks for helping me get more organized!
This app is really making me think of dropping the note taking app I’ve been using for months now for all my writing. I would love more themes for folders, and the ability to change the icons on my notes from the default notepaper. Its great, but doing those two things would seal it for me since I’m using my note app for writing projects and would love to be able to have each story project folder identifiable by color.
Six or seven colors, to be severely honest, isn’t enough for a writer with dozens of small and a few large projects, not to mention the non-writing folders for other things.
Thats just all I need really.
[...] At it’s core, I firmly believe, as Albert Einstein once said, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.” Where Springpad wins is taking your life and making it simpler, even though your life may not be that simple. What do I mean? Well no matter how many areas of focus in your life, it allows you to lay out in a visual fashion all these areas as notebooks in a way that allows you to visualize those areas. In the wallpaper I chose above, I’ve laid each of my areas of focus (my notebooks) on the floor for me to view. When I need to tend to one of these areas, I simply click on that notebook. (Oh thank heavens, I can move my notebooks around on the web app!!) [...]
Yay! Awesome update guys! The rearranging thing thing is awesome

This I so need to realize my GTD on springpad (it’s fine idea to organize projects on the board).
But I cannot use it until you realize the board on mobile apps (I use android).
Can you tell, how soon this future coming in mobile apps?
Hi Brittni,
Is it possible to organize notebooks by color and/or alphabetic/numeric order? Is it possible to create a notebook within a notebook? How can I see the notebooks organized as folders in order to find them more quickly?
Thanks and great job to all your team!
Just added an audio file using my iphone 3G. The file won’t play on my macbookpro. Any suggestions?
Hi guys:
This thread is a year old so I thought I’d ask. Has notebook arrangement been imPlemented in the mobile app yet? Also, is there a way to have notebooks organize themselves automatically?

Right Jake, just refresh, the “installation” just made a quick link button when you open a new tab in Chrome. Nothing else to do on your end!
cool, Thanks!

Daniele – You can find the board when you go into your notebooks, there is no board in My Stuff.
Thanks!

Yuriy – No immediate plans right now.

Hi Shaheen – sorry about that. For some reason some iOS audio notes are saving as ima4 files instead of mp3 files. We’re looking into why this is happening. Sorry for the trouble.
