We’re excited to announce our latest update to the Springpad iPhone and iPad apps, available in the App Store today! This release includes the addition of voice memos, sharing to Facebook and Twitter, re-ordering notebooks, and log in with credentials from other services.

Voice memos
Now, use your Springpad iPhone or iPad app to save a voice note, or attach a voice memos to an existing note. The new audio recording option is available when you tap + to add a new item under Add Media and in the attachments area of notes. All of your voice memos will also be synced to the web.

Post your items directly to Facebook or Twitter using the Springpad iPhone app! Anything that you add to Springpad can be set to public, then shared with your friends! The first time you choose to share note via Facebook or Twitter, you will be asked to login to that service. After that, you can see your sharing options on the Settings screen. Learn more about privacy settings in Springpad.

Rearrange Notebooks
Order your Springpad notebooks how you like! Just hold down a notebook to put your homescreen into “wiggle” mode, then drag your notebooks into the desired order. And the sequence now syncs with your account at Springpadit.com, too!

Register or Log in with other Services
Now, use your GMail, Facebook, Yahoo, and Twitter accounts to login to Springpad on your iPhone or iPad app.

Other Improvements and Bug Fixes:
– Fix keyboard position when in landscape mode
– Improved sync stability for users who have imported Delicious bookmarks
– Change default tag entry on Notes to be lowercase
– Properly display unicode, carriage returns and other special characters in attached notes
– Remove orphan tags from Filter

    Hi Katin,

How do I upgrade my Springpad iPhone app to the new version?

    Thanks,

    Boyang

  2. Blair Allen says:

Great updates! I love this product!

  3. Mark Hall says:

Thank you for adding Audio notes to SpringPad. I was thinking today to request that capability. One thing that would be nice is to have the ability to type some notes while it is recording. And if that is possible, note the time of the recording when the typed note was made.

Thank you for the application; I’m really enjoying it.

  4. Brad says:

How long before we get to edit reminders and alerts in the iOS apps? Really need this ASAP and SpringPad will be perfect.

  5. TheBigSauce says:

Looks like a very good app. Will download and use it for my iPad tonight!
    Thanks.

  6. Saki says:

Agreed with Mark Hall. It will be great if I can take note and make audio recording at the same time. It will become a powerful tool for students and professionals attending lectures and meetings.

  7. April says:

Wow…adding voice memos is really making Springpad my “one stop shop” app. I won’t even have to bother w/ the iPhone Voice Memos app!

  8. Ramana Murthy says:

Great product. I love it. I have been using it for a few days, just on Chrome browser. Awesome. I was looking for a application which does exactly what springpad does and more. Thanks for it.

May I enquire as to when Voice memo feature would be available for Android ?

    Thanks.

  9. Jim Whitaker says:

Will this also be updated for the Android version?

  10. Christina says:

I love this update, but when I tried to use the recording feature for my class lectures, it completely drained my battery! I only recorded 2 classes and then when one of the classes finished and I unlock my phone to save the file, my phone was dead. Not only did I have to find an alternate source to call someone, I had lost that lecture.
Other than that, it is a fantastic app for taking notes, saving webpages, and typing ideas for my books.

  11. Artem says:

Audio rec – great feature, thanks. What about nested notebooks in Springpad. I’m having hard time trying to move from OneNote to Springpad because of the great deal of nested folders I got. Do you have this feature in schedule?

    • brittni says:

Artem – We are considering the idea of grouped notebooks, but only one level most likely.

Christina – I’m looking into this battery issue.

  12. Artem says:

Brittni – one level would be great. Look forward to.

  13. SeC says:

Please post articles on new features that tell us how to find and upload them! I would like the voice note feature.

    • brittni says:

Hi SeC – the voice note feature is available on both Android and iOS apps, just make sure you have the latest version. To record a new audio note click the + when you’re in My Stuff or a notebook, the Add Media.

  14. CK Hicks says:

I just started using this tonight – absolutely loving the features so far. One thing I really like about the Evernote app is being able to record up to 90 minutes of audio at one time…is there any limit to the recording length for Springpad?

  15. CK Hicks says:

Very good, thanks for the fast answer! I’ll try recording until it shuts off to see what happens. ;)
