The new Springpad is coming… and we think you’ll love it!
You may have heard that something new is coming with Springpad, and I’m here to tell you that it’s true! We’ve been hard a work on something big, new and exciting. So, whether you use Springpad on the web, iPhone, iPad or Android, you’ll see an all new Springpad very soon!
So, what’s coming and when?
Well, I can’t tell you exactly what’s included in the new Springpad. But, I will tell you that it will make Springpad both more fun AND more useful – You didn’t think that fun overlapped with useful, huh? Well, just wait… Vague enough for ya?
Oh, and I can’t promise a date yet, but I will tell you that it’s days away, not weeks, not months. So, get excited! The new Springpad is coming, and we just know you’ll love it.

Cannot wait!!
Thank you so much for the awesome app that is SpringPad.
I might be hoping for too much here, but I would REALLY love to see a desktop application syncing to my web notes, for you know, when I’m offline. And lets face it, not everyone has a lightning fast connection, so those web based notes can be very slow at times.
Please, let a desktop app be the new SpringPad!
I hope it becomes faster!
Think about remembering something in the middle of a conversation. How long does it take for you to pick up your smartphone and know the answer?
For instance: when did something happened? — which is an event in your springpad. 5 seconds including typing would be great
Why not give a launch date? This has gotten annoying now, you’ve been touting this too long. If you gave us a date we’d have something to look forward to, by not doing so it’s just another pointless useless announcement that really says nothing. Stop it.
Days away? SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
So by days do you mean before the 13th? I’m going to NY on the 14th and it’d blow to be updated that day and be confused when trying to use the app quickly in a place where I can’t sit and play with it.
Could you be more specific? What are the new functionalities tha are going to be released? Could you at least tell a couple of them (geolocation?) ou show a layout preview? About the release date, if it is a matter of days and not weeks, should we expect it before April, 15th?
About the stability of the current platform, due to the migration, should we expect some trouble connecting to Springpad ou some downtime window?
Thank you.
Hopefully retina support. iPad app looks – excusez le mot – fugly right now.
Well, I’m perfectly happy with Springpad the way it is…….I love it, and use it everyday. But, if you have new ideas, I’m interested to see them.
Thank you. Springpad has changed my life.
I’m hoping you will include a journal too!
Are you dumping that useless folder Friends Stuff, I do hope so.
I love springpad, I wonder what are the new functionalities will release? Actually, I wait for the springpad desktop app same at evernote…
Tks
I’m waiting for it too =)
Will it address any of the BASIC problems that are over a year old such as printing a notebook and import/export???
Springpad’s been my favorite app for the last two years. I use it for just about everything. I absolutely can’t wait to see what’s next. Great job!
and if it is yet another iOS centered update, I’m calling it quits on Springpad.
Desktop app is nada, and Android app is inferior to iphone one already.
Will it have better sync conflict resolution? I hate losing information on lists that I have been working in in different platforms.
a great app as it is better than many paid ones, agree with some of the suggestions like printing a notebook and import/export, it would be great to have a professional version that gets rid of the my stuff ads and have a calendar view where you can see events, tasks etc.
…not sure about all the hooplah on Retina. I have iPAD2 and recently did a side by side with the New iPad. Not worth upgrading IMHO. I hope Retina Support is not the major change to the awesome Sprinpad.
You know what I’d like to see?
1. A YELLOW HIGHLIGHTER pen in the editing section and maybe with the option to hyperlink that highlighted selection.
Absolutely love this App for my GTD and more. Can’t wait for the update. Hope it’s before this weekend
Love SpringPad! Needs a drawing app for iOS/Android!
Would LOVE a calendar overview….
Can’t wait to play with it!
Hello Guys,
I would really appreciate having an playbook app for spring pad. It is really hard to access the online site of springpad trough the BBP browser.
Maybe you guys could use the BB development tool to transform the Springpad Android App into a BB app, and change any small detail need instead of doing a full app from 0.
I would really appreciate it.
Cheers,
Dan
As you are already working on it, please add automatic cycling of to-do’s on large widget (Android). All other stuff is working perfect;)
Jaydeep – what’s a GTD? Pardon my ignorance….
Rick – rockin’ a drawing app for IOS….ok Android toooooooo…..
Frank – Calendars would be great too. How much can the SP Team absorb?
Excited… I have developed my own system of GTD with Springpad. Getting used to it. Cannot wait to see what’s new there?
I hope coming soon means it’ll arrive by Easter. That’ll be a nice present!
I just recently started using Springpad again b/c I heard about the update and thought I would get my feet wet again. I like it a lot. I am hoping for a repeating tasks option so I could get even MORE done. I also am hoping for an updated web clipper that has some of the benefits that the previous web clipper had.
I am waiting with baited breath.
Robert, GTD stands for “Get things Done”. It’s basically a TODO way.
I also use springpad a lot for my GTD, mainly work stuff.
Springpad is really really awesome! Looking forward for the new update.
Can’t wait!
Excited for this new improved Springpad. Would love to be able to share a whole notebook with another user so we can collaborate.
well, i encountered a very sad problem – the app doesn’t provide a proper search ability (full in-text search or wo endings). it’s actually a pain in the ass when you can’t find by words you entered in the notesbookmarks. i have to scroll all of them to find what i need. sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn’t. it’s so SAAAAD +((
GTD is a task management system based on David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology.
Any idea on date yet, do not want to renew my Evernote until I see your new release…
Thanks
” it’s days away, not weeks, not months. So, get excited!”
8 days…..
1 WEEK + 1 day….
I’m starting to feel teased…..
@alysson Totally. And turn around, if it’s on Saturday, I will be in new york AND having to deal with changes. Which is horrible sounding cuz I use SP for so much! Also, it delays my time to play with it another day >_>
Let me just say how important it is to go about things the way you guys do. I was in the process of deciding which note managing app to choose and I really need collaborative capabilities. Although no service truly satisfied me, the fact that you guys took the trouble to give constant updates on what you’re doing and when made me go for springpad. None of that unveiling fanfare, just a straight up “hey guys, it’s late, but this is coming really soon”. You’ve gained a fan.
Although I’ve had Springpad on my android phone for a while now I have only recently begun to use it in earnest. I really hope recurring tasks is going to be one of the new features. I would also love to see checklists modified so each item can be treated as it’s own task (for improved project management functionality).
I would love to see the following added
1) contact manager
2) bookmark manager
3) calendar
I am sure what ever it has it will be worth the wait!
Desperately needs more notebook colors and drawings/sketches!
hello
on my springpad account i have important research stuff kept and i cant access it due to the update thats going on. plz help me. my competition is just on tommorow!!!!
I guess today is the day since Springpad ( web browser ) is completely offline at the moment with an announcement that the new springpad is on the way… thank God for the iPhone app so I can access my VERY important customer information that I needed access to a few minutes ago.. Feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t have that option
@yashodhan
The mobile app still works. You should be able to access all of your info through there.
I hope the update is good. It’s a pain losing the whole service for hours while it’s put in place. Some warning of such downtime would be appreciated, even a hint as to when it will be back would be better than where we are now. “Check back in a few hours” (like a note saying back in 10 mins) is poor form.
Agree. Warning about being offline for hours, should have been given.
New ver looks nice, but is it really correct that one of the big issues “subfolders” is still not here ?
What the hel!?!?? updated and half my stuff went missing! And I have a lot of stuff!
now this is again a reason why i have been advocating a desktop application – to take of situations when either the service or the user is offline.
Also, it will always be quicker.
finally, android app and web app got updated(thank god no info’s lost). however, my android phone keeps crashing =(((( without any reason.
at first it looks nice and handy but LARGE notebook thumbnails is a bit distracting, although scrolling got smoooooother.
and unfortunately, no TIME STAMPS ((((
been using it just under 5 mins/
I *hate* the new springpad. My notebooks all say 0 Notes even though they have notes. The interface is ugly and hard to use and none of my pictures show up.
My stuff seems to be there, but my notes seem to have disappeared. I really hope this is an update blurp & it’s because of the conversion (meaning the stuff is still being updated & will be available soon).
Rather than simply getting rid of the annoying friends stuff notebook, you centered the whole goddamn app around it!! I just want tasks and notes; I don’t give a fuck about what my friends are doing! I’ll probably switch to evernote….
If I wanted Pinterest I would have signed up for Pinterest.
Give me back my old UI please.
I cannot express for much I hate, the new app. its terrible. I wish I hadn’t updated.
And my tag sorting no longer works. I’m so mad. I finally found a reasonable Android equivalent to awesome note, and you guys just ruined it. I hate you.
I agree with Jordan…it’s hard to express. I have been corresponding with Brittni via email and here’s what I’ve said. To their defense, they’ve been responsive (in terms of email anyway). But I’m actively looking for a new app.
EMAIL 1:
I know this is a free product, but really…You wiped out the themes applied to my notebooks in your redesign. I used that as color coding for part of my organizational system. Now I have to reset everything.
Also, I don’t really like the new design. Blockier, and overall uglier I think…I liked the light, rounded edge old design. Not sure where you got your usability evidence for the changes.
I’m all for advancement of the product, but are you going to release an option for using the “old view”? Even Google does that!
Timing of the roll-out (9AM EST) wasn’t great either, but that’s not the biggest problem.
Disappointed user
-Matt
RESPONSE: There are no plans to allow us to roll back. Cited bandwidth issues.
EMAIL 2:
Thanks for the quick response Brittney. My gut reaction will be tempered by a continued trial and re-learning experience. However, the reason I use SpringPad is b/c it “just works” for me. I don’t have a lot of time to re-learn systems (which is why searched for SpringPad in the first place) and won’t hesitate to move on if it’s too clunky for what I need. More than the overall redesign (life is growth) I’m pretty disappointed that I have to reset all my colors/themes on my folders in the main view. It’s one thing to redesign a system but over-writing user settings is just disrespect in my mind.
I do usability assessments as part of my job so I’m wondering if you did any before the change or will be doing any after. Or if these changes are just the team’s own ideas of how to improve and extrapolations from user comments. NEVER under-estimate good usability/user experience RESEARCH (quantitative and qualitative) in the planing stage. It can never be replaced by general user feedback (like my comments) in my experience. My hunch is that most dissatisfied users just jump ship (or never start in the first place) rather than express their opinion. An explicit, objective usability/user experience study (or at least expert review) gets you design info and ideas you never new was out there.
As a larger comment on the mission of SpringPad, I have to admit that I don’t use the social networking part. I’m curious to see what you’ve improved there. If there are true collaboration options (like sharing folder and element editing) it becomes more attractive. But on the whole, I’m attracted to the software more as a personal organization tool than a collaboration tool. I have a hard time getting colleagues to even use Google Docs, let alone something like SpringPad, which has a bit of a learning curve.
Take it with a grain of salt, I’m just a user. But right now I’m user who had a nice system for personal organization based in SpringPad (with visual design and appeal being a major criterion for me) who feels like that’s been pulled out from under him.
Thanks for reading. Please pass on to your colleagues.

When viewing “All my stuff” I change the default “gallery” view to “details”. I select just “tasks” on the left and I’m back at a gallery view. So I set it as details. When I switch back to “All my stuff” it’s gallery again. This will be a major headache for power users. Please make a global view default setting ASAP or point me to what I’m missing. Thanks.
-Matt
Lost all my attachments such as a note. How to get them back?
Assuming I’m willing to try it out (I mean, it’s not like I’m paying for it…if I were I’d ask for my money back), there is at least one major usability issue I’ve found so far. It’s in “Email 3″ in my last post, but here again for clarity. Suggests no user testing was done (or poor user testing).
When viewing “All my stuff” I change the default “gallery” view to “details”. I select just “tasks” on the left and I’m back at a gallery view. So I set it as details. +1 to being disappointed with the update. All notebooks show 0 items on the overview page and the whole system seems a bit slower – or is it just my wishful thinking?
Haven’t updated the iPhone app so there may be hope for the “old fashioned ” of us
Just don’t update app.
Hmm… seems they have updated their blog as well and have left the old one just hanging here. The new one is at http://springpad.com/blog/
What has happened? I log in via the web and I’m pushed to go through this set up rubbish? I don’t seem able to complete the setup to follow other people’s notebooks or whatever the idea is and I can’t see any of my own personal notes.
Utter rubbish I’m afraid. Yes people have said it’s free etc. but so are many others. Back to Catch notes for me I’m afraid.
Feels like an attempt at a re-design to get borged by Farcebook, HA!
Must agree with the majority comments. I’ve gone from a smooth running system to a new and unfortunately uglier system. I hope the “zero items” tag on my notebooks is just a temporary glitch. And where is the “wrench” icon to edit/delete a notebook? I assume the “share with friends” idea is tied to an ultimate revenue-generating idea, and I understand the need for that. But for me, Springpad is a business app, not another social network. The program worked so well that I would pay for a non-social network version. I’m hoping I’m too dumb (really, I seriously am hoping that) to grasp how to use the new system, and I will eventually be able to again tweak it too my needs.
Backup seems to not be working. Have tested in Chrome and FF (most recent versions of both). Machine is Vista.
Does anyone remember getting a warning that this change was happening? I would’ve backed-up before.
Page resolution no longer fits my screen – can’t find a setting to fix. Any help?
How can I get rid of that stupid top panel pushing the SpringIt app? I even tried clicking it to download again, but it still won’t go away. With the notebooks so huge now, screen real estate is at a premium, would love to get back that wasted space. Any help?
Matt, it was news to me.
I installed new springpad … On both iPad and iPhone … But my notes under food and books category just vanished !!! It was quite a valuable information I seem to lost ![]()
Any help please…
@Matt Email 3
The view is buried in the settings of each individual notebook Settings/Navigation/Everything/Starting View
I was also frustrated by the constant switch to Pinterest style Gallery View.
I agree that the new interface is ignoring a significant number of us who use Springpad for life organization and our daily work functions. (Even the categories Springpad has created exclude work meaning that all my work notebooks (Building Inspections, OSHA, Shop Assignments, Projects Dept) are “Other”.
At least give us a ‘create your own’ category option
The color aspect of springpad made it easy to identify notes vs checklists and categories of notebooks
If you have workbooks that actually just have notes and not pictures then the new “My Notebooks” becomes a barren wasteland with clunky boxes.
The margins on the Notes word processor are undersized and the checklist spacing between line items is enormous.
I keep a dedicated montior on Springpad all day while I complete tasks, edit notes, and manage projects so that I can instantly have the information when I’m out in the field away from my desk. There is no way I’m updating my mobile Springpad 2.0
I joined Springpad yesterday, and immediately knew it was for me, it just worked perfectly. Now only one day later and it’s been ruined. Everything I liked most about Springpad yesterday is gone today. I hate to have to say it, but I’m off to Evernote after only 24 hours. So disappointing.
How do we hide completed tasks in the iOS version? That’s something we can do in the android version…
The new version seems slower than the previous one
My android ICS device keeps telling me that “Springpad has stopped working” and then shuts down.
Hi,
I can’t access my text attachments in notes. I have so much custumer information in them… please help!
Sam
Why was my comment criticising this update removed?
In any event, it is a shame that this product has taken such a step backwards. I’m off.
So, my PDF attachments all seem to be lost. Will be doing what I can to recover them, then *never* using Springpad again. Lost data – no excuses for that guys.
Hey guys – The new Springpad is up at http://springpad.com – I see that most of you have already check it out. We’re also moving the blog to a new site: http://springpad.com/blog
Soon, we’ll redirect the old blog to its new home!
Why? Seriously this is what you think is an improvement. You just flushed an awesome beautiful system down the toliet.
Back to evernote. It has its drawbacks but at least when they improve it improves it. Its almost like you hired new developers who didnt bother to learn what made Springpad so well liked to begin with.
I wanted to let you all know that we hear your complaints, and we hate to hear that we’ve let you down! Hopefully you’ve had a chance to invite your spouse or a co-worker into a notebook to try out the new collaboration features – we built those for you, based on user requests over the years! Either way, give it a shot, you might just like the new Springpad…
Also, if you’re having issues with your notebooks cover counts or your attached notes, here’s the story: https://getsatisfaction.com/springpartners/topics/issues_with_the_new_springpad
Sorry to say,
All I was just hoping for some improvements with sharing, and I was eagerly waiting for this release. I understand you focused on making it social, but you just “shot your own foot”. You managed to kill Springpad.
1. As Matt above, I used colors for organization. Color was relegated to decoration purposes.
2. Have you ever considered that people may want to have a wide view of all their notebooks. Specially heavy users. Making Notebooks Thumbs bigger was the worst choice ever!! Now I’ll have to scroll up and down to find the notebook I want!! FIRST INTERNET RULE: SCROLLING SUCKS!
3. Font and color choices are painfull. This minimalistic look makes it all very hard to read! Title fonts are to thin. WOW! Really a bad call.
4. Board is useless! I can’t read anything in there. (this is minor issue)
5. I just can’t believe you didn’t improved typing options; font size and colors
Sorry, but this alone is enough to make me leave Springpad. I can’t describe how frustrated I am.
Not even remotely interested in notebook sharing, and the new emphasis on this is a major turnoff.
The gallery view is totally unusable. Notebooks are so huge you can only see a few at a time. On the web, even if you change to list view, it keeps reverting to gallery. And the mobile app ONLY has gallery view of notebooks, where screen space is even more of a premium. Wish I could roll back to the previous version.
I found springpad about 2 months ago and gave it a try as a way of getting organized finally. What happens? I loved it, decided to start using it as my main way of organizing. And now, its been ruined. Turned into yet another cluttered, clumsy looking app that is annoying and time consuming to use.
Sometimes I dream of a world where tech geeks don’t get to sit around and brainstorm ways to completely redesign and destroy things that already work great.
Ah, its good to see some people agree with me… I was worried I was the only one!
It turns out that my stuff didn’t really disappear, my notebooks just say 0 items when they are actually full! All of my notebooks have the ugly generic cover-even the ones with pictures in them! Plus, tag sorting doesn’t work right. The old UI had little titles so you are what tag they were sorted by. Now I can’t see what tags the list is referring to. Its very upsetting. Plus, I won’t ever use things like comments or collaboration. You should be able to turn off these features. Basically you choose whether you want your account to be social or non social. This way you can get rid of the useless social clutter you’ll never use. Plus, you should be able to customize notebook size.
I do like: more customization features, tagging notebooks, and pictures on notebook covers (if I could get it to work right, however, I hate during that big ugly generic logo on notebooks I don’t have pictures in, like tasks)
This update is pretty awful. It definitely takes Springpad in a direction that isn’t for my needs…I’m forced to switch to Evernote. What I don’t get is the lack of symmetry between different platforms. For example, I don’t get why I can’t sort my Tasks by Tags on the iPad, but I sure can sort by Category…however, there isn’t a Category field on the iPad or the web version. So nothing syncs. Who is the dev who thought it would be neat to have disparate data fields across different apps? And it’s still wonky where it doesn’t save my view settings so I have to keep selecting List View and Hide Completed Tasks.
I was in love with your work guys…but after a few hours playing with the new springbad (not a typo) that’s it!…back to evernote… I’ll check back in a while sincerelly hoping to find pleasent news n’ surprises
think again
Same here – was a great productivity app, now all my attached documents have disappeared. The new look springpad is rubbish. It was a slick smooth attractive app that offered great functionality. I used it as a notebook, task list, note collecter, to-do list. Now I can’t use it at all!
I don’t want to share notebooks and have my friends comment on my work – I want to know what I’m doing.
Well done springpad the ‘new’ app has made me less productive. Please put it back to what it was!
i agree with most of you. notebooks are way too large, especially within the app. i really don’t need to show pictures in them. want the wrench back. new spring it button i very slow. design within the notebooks is okay. i’m looking for a way a could share stuff with people (they are able to edit), without having them to sign up. springpad is still not doing it after the update. btw: i found http://www.moreganize.com/ for that purpose.
I miss the other Springpad. It was easy to organize files and ideas and the color coding was important; I am very visual. Now I have huge ugly blocks on my notebook page. The theme choices are UGLY! I am still trying to figure out out to make a board. The fonts are very light and harder to read. Can’t stand so much gray!
I keep trying to set my recipes folder to gallery and keeps switching back to single line. The only photos that appear on the outside of my notebooks are on my recipe notebook.
No desire to use this as a social/sharing app. I was in love with it as a way to organize my life and don’t want to share that with anyone. I was almost at a point where I thought wouldn’t need my Filofax any more.
Please don’t change the iphone app to this new upgrade.
OK Springpad.
After 24 hours of the new “improved” app I’ve not seen one positive comment from the users. This isn’t all the users I’m sure and maybe some people want to share their notebooks. But are you going to roll back to the old system and layer the social networking on top of that? Such a design would satisfy the current user base and allow you to offer the sharing option.
Let us know, soon. I need my organization system and if you aren’t going to do that then I need to spend today moving everything to Evernote. My life doesn’t stop and I need to move on.
The changes that have been made are the equivalent of waking up one morning to find out that your iPad has turned into a shovel!
Wow… I can not begin to express what a major “fail” this update is. A solid year of intense use spent organizing with this app is now gone. I guess it’s time to move on…
Oh… shi…
This is a true example when an excellent idea is destroyed within one day. You’ve managed to create a community that enjoyed your product not because it is fancy and ‘social’, but because it just worked out of the box easily and naturally and helped people to manage the stuff in their everyday life and business.
Now it’s all ruined.
Have you seen your new design on a netbook? It doesn’t fit the screen.
What’s up with my favorite Chrome app? Does it work offline or not?
Why you’re using these huge ugly and EMPTY rectangle blocks for every notebook? They just occupy precious space on my screen, nothing else…
You’re the second after ‘famous’ GAP rebranding.
Wow… like many others I’m very disappointed with the new springpad. I loved the simplicity of the old version and it was the main reason I chose it over the numerous other note taking apps out there. Not to mention it seems very slow and buggy, plus I appear to have lost all my attachments to my notes!
I suppose the main reason for the update was to enable a way of monetising springpad? So you can data-mine peoples social interactions?
Agree with all user complaints above. The new update it atrocious! It only takes one mistake like this to blow the business, Springbad (Freudian slip?). I was hawking you guys to everyone I know, and now personally I’m looking at how to migrate to Evernote. At least give us the option of still accessing the old interface.
it seems the option to backup your data as HTML is GONE from “Settings” and the RSS feed option does not work either … HOPE this is not intentional and will be fixed asap
Feedback: No, I don’t like the NEW Springpad UI. It feels too social and is trying to follow and be too much like Twitter or Facebook. I wouldn’t mind the ability to share notes or notebooks but holy cow the entire site and everything appears to be shared (even though it may not be).
I have either lost everything or things have been shuffled around but the most annoying thing is I can’t just use the SpringPad Chrome extension to add notes to existing Notebook or Items like I previously could. Even so when I actually go to SpringPad and access the main note that I would like attach subsequent notes to now, I can’t but instead it acts like a post now aka Activity. Each post cannot be modified as well which was a function that was previously there.
Another thing is the Previous SpringPad site was dubbed as “beta” correct? If that was beta then how did we go from beta to Production and the UI is totally different, etc. Nothing closely resembles what was previously being tested and used in beta?
You’ve got real trouble on your hands. Too many design changes/problems to mention. One, just one, example: While you have given us a tool, Items not Filed, it is practically useless. I challenge you to go into the items not yet filed, and then figure out a quick and easy way to assign the item to a Notebook. Drap and Drop is a logical way. But this is not close to possible. The real problem is that you (meaning the software engineers) REFUSE to allow us to sort by Notebook. This is out of this world crazy. IMO.
SECOND: This is WAY too Web-centric, in at least this way… The lines of text are too large, too clunky, not adjustable, not REALLY useful as a tool which will fit a certain amount of text on a single screen. ALSO, the Notebooks are way too large. Perhaps you will allow us (at some later date) to adjust them down to smaller sizes.
As it is now, this somewhat extravagant tool is WAY too beta. Your, now, interest in competing with Pintrest is a flailing attempt to find a market/business plan. Good luck. You failed in competing with EN. (DON’T think you aren’t.) You will (IMO) also fail in competing with Social Media like Pintrest. // IMO, you should have picked up the challenge to meet and beat Evernote on that turf. THEN go out and conquer the world. As it is, you will probably fail, then be bought out by some mega-success to mothball the tool, and skim a few good ideas. Watch out, it could be the dreaded Google or even facebook. Bet it won’t be for a Billion though. If you are lucky, your new buyer will be EN. At least then some of your ideas will have been successfully implemented. Good luck.
I REALLY wanted you to succeed. You came close, at first. NOW, you seem to be slipping farther from any logical market. You do too many things — poorly. Not enough COMPELLING things GREATLY. ELEGANTLY. I’ll check in again in six months (I know, you are waiting on pins and needles).
: /
Gutted with the new app. I use it to store recipes and it has been fantastic but now it won’t let me email recipes it only sends the link to springpad to view it which isn’t what I want as I want to share my recipes by email so that people can print them off.
I have tried going onto the web browser from my iPad and it gets stuck asking me to buy download the app ( which I already have),
Went on safari via pc and it kept crashing when I tried to print the recipe. Not happy at all. Please fix soon otherwise I will find another app and won’t be back!!!!
Hey guys, thanks for all of the updates in this thread. While we may not be replying to each post, we are reading them all.
While there are definitely some issues, we wanted to be sure that you guys are aware of the new features that we built just for you! Please take a few minutes to read the latest post on our blog: http://springpad.com/blog/2012/04/we-made-the-new-springpad-for-you/ (It’s not all social, we swear!)
Yes. Yes. You already said give it a try. And what everyone here is saying is why? You took all the function we loved and added a bunch of stuff while maybe requested destroyed everything that came before.
The point isn’t that we aren’t willing to try something new. The point is if we have to learn a new system we might as well go someplace else. No reason to stay with springpad since a new system is a new system. But there is reason to leave since we are upset about what you took away. We might learn the new springpad, grow to love it, then come in the next day to find the same thing happen again.
Answer the resounding question please; Are you going to roll back or at least give a preference to opt to the old layout or not?
This is BS…..ALL my attached documents are GONE! I was using this for my job search and had laods resumes, covering letters etc attached in various folders…they are ALL gone. Now before someone at SP states that this is being resolved….it has been stated by SP that they will be converterd to…COMMENTS!! I don’t want comments…I want to have access to my word resumes, covers etc……AND this is all before I even open my mouth about the new interface…….” We are sure you will love the new….” BS …I DONT it’s SHIT!!
Evernote here I come…………….
It’s INSANE how you made major, major, major (!) changes without notifying your users. I have links *everywhere* to my public Springpad links by tag, and they’re now all gone. At this point, I’ll probably still use Springpad for personal notes and collaborations (which are good features, btw), but I’ll put all my public links on Pinterest and will get more eyeballs for it.
Geez Louise Louise, couldn’t you give us a heads-up at all? (sadness)
I can’t add custom products anymore??? I can only add them from your list of searchable products?? Seriously?!? I can’t find stuff from ikea, let alone the fair trade clothes I buy from small online retailers. -__- so mad, springpad!!! Put that feature back!!
Katin,
I’m a long-time springpad user and my initial reaction to the new site is: “UGH!”
So far, I hate it. I don’t think I ever would have started using it if it had looked like this to begin with. I have to scroll way to much to select a notebook. The edit area isn’t nearly as large as previously. All in all, I don’t like it. I’ll keep you posted to see if my atitude changes.
Anytime you change a UI you are bound to have frustrated users who experience growing pains, but in this case I think you guys have taken something that was simple (and thus perfect) and complicated it unnecessarily. As a result, I’m less likely to continue recommending SpringPad to my less tech savvy friends and family members (i.e., my mom would never be able to figure out the new version of SpringPad.)

Perhaps you will consider a “Simple” version for those that only want basic functionality.
+1 to those who hate it. Gone from a simple to use clean interface to an over complicated clunky mess which bugs out far too much. Looking for an alternative as I type.

Stanley – Yup, that’s included!
Hi Squiffy – We’re changing Friends Stuff to be way better. We think you’ll like it!
Hi Daniel – I’m sorry you are having trouble. Rule of thumb: make sure you sync before editing, so latest updates are always saved.
a great app as it is better than many paid ones, agree with some of the suggestions like printing a notebook and import/export, it would be great to have a professional version that gets rid of the my stuff ads and have a calendar view where you can see events, tasks etc.
Would love to be able to share a whole notebook with another user so we can collaborate.
well, i encountered a very sad problem – the app doesn’t provide a proper search ability (full in-text search or wo endings). it’s actually a pain in the ass when you can’t find by words you entered in the notesbookmarks. i have to scroll all of them to find what i need. sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn’t. it’s so SAAAAD +((
Hi Kip – We’re working to improve the in-app search with the next update!
@yashodhan
-Matt
EMAIL 3:
It was quite a valuable information I seem to lost
Any help please…
@Matt Email 3
