Introducing the Springpad Board for Android Tablets

We know that when it comes to getting things done, everyone has their own approach to staying organized. Like many of you, we often find ourselves visually organizing things with whiteboards, scrapbooks, and yes, even mood boards. With the new Springpad board for Android tablets, the cork boards, post-its and folders of magazines cut-outs you love are going digital!  The Springpad board allows you visually organize your notebook’s contents with simple drag and drop functions, dynamic maps and beautiful labels. Every notebook in Springpad already has its own board to help you get organized on your favorite Android tablet. Getting started is simple…

First, download the lastest version of Springpad for Android on your favorite Android tablet. Once you have the newest version of Springpad on your tablet, you’ll be able to use the board in so many awesome ways:

  • Collaborate with others to organize a party, plan an upcoming trip, or share gift ideas
  • Layout photos, links and products related to a decorating or design project
  • Use labels to separate specific board sections, making it easy to create a weekly meal plan or to put things into organized ‘piles’
  • Easily add a map to the board to see your location-based items like restaurants and museums

Using the Board

To get started with the board, select the “Board” option in the left hand navigation panel of one of your notebooks. You’ll always be able to return to the classic notebook view by clicking “Everything” in the same menu.

Springpad Pro Tip: The board is especially helpful when organizing a notebook you’re using to plan an event, organize a meal, or brainstorm ideas. Visual organization is helpful when sorting a notebook with a large variety of content — everything from to-do lists to favorite restaurants.

Managing Your Board’s Contents

After entering the board view, you’ll notice a new navigation menu on the right-hand side of your screen. This menu allows you to control the contents of your board, as well as any new labels or maps you’d like to create exclusively for your notebook’s board.

The bottom section of the right-hand navigation contains all of the things you’ve saved in your notebook under the “Add items from your notebook” header. Want to add them to your board view? Simply click the item in the menu and it’ll appear on the board. You can also create labels to organize sections of your board. In this example, we’ve created labels for areas of the city, types of destinations and trip details.

Springpad Pro Tip: Using the board to organize travel plans? Add a map to your board — it’ll automatically pin all the addresses from the places you’ve saved on your board or in your notebook.

Deleting Items and Toggling the Board Menu

You can easily manage the contents of your board by using the sliding menu and drag-to-delete feature. To delete an item from your board, simply drag it to the bottom of your screen until a circled X appears. Drag the item over the X. When it appears red, release to delete the item from the board. Remember, this won’t delete the item from your notebook — you can always re-add it to the board from the right-hand menu.
You can also easily hide the right-hand menu using the small arrow at the top right of the screen. Want to see the menu again? Click the arrow and the menu will reappear.

Use the Board to Stay Organized and Get Things Done

Using the board makes it easy to organize big projects, keep track of ideas, and set menus and itineraries. Collaborate on a notebook with your spouse or roommate and use the board to plan a redecorating project. Save ideas for furniture, color schemes and decor. Use check lists to keep track of shopping and to-do lists.

Having people over for a dinner party? Create a board of the recipes you’ll be making, guests who will be attending and lists of groceries you need to pick up at the market.
Use the board to plan vacations, long weekends, and special events. Packing lists, itineraries and maps will help you spend less time stressing and more time enjoying great food, great company and a great destination.

The Springpad board is also available on the Web and on your iPad
