We’re happy to announce an exciting new Springpad feature – Offline Support! Now you can use Springpad from your computer even when you’re not connected to the internet.

We’ve made the Springpad web app available in the Chrome browser even when you’re offline. All of your Springpad data will be stored locally so that you can access Springpad via Chrome at any time, and you can continue to add new things while offline. Plus, as an added benefit, users of the Chrome web app will find overall performance improvements.

Here’s a fun little hack for Springpad power-users out there…

As you may already know, the Chrome browser allows users to add custom search engines to the Address bar (Omnibox), using keywords that will direct your search to a particular site or search engine.

Here’s how to set it up for Springpad:

  1. Open Chrome, right-click on the Address bar, then select Manage Search Engines
  2. Scroll to the bottom to add a new search engine

Many months back, we introduced a feature called “Send to Phone” for users who access Springpad both with the Chrome browser and via the Android App. Recently, we’ve talked to a bunch of Springpad users about this feature and have learned that most of your aren’t aware of it. So, let me tell you about it…

How it works
First, you need to use Springpad on Google Chrome – either the web app or the Springpad Chrome Extension. Second, you need to have logged into your Springpad account on the Springpad Android app with a phone running Android OS 2.2+.
